We are excited to be hosting the annual TASH conference this year in Baltimore!! "Living the Vision Together, Today, Tomorrow and Beyond!" is scheduled for November 8 - 11, 2006.  Please distribute the info far and wide.

The local and national planning committees are working hard to bring everyone together for an exceptional conference this year in Baltimore, MD.  If you have got an interest, a resource or an idea, let us know--we'd love to include YOU or YOUR ASSOCIATION in planning and taking the conference to fruition.

The best of Maryland and the District of Columbia will be featured at the conference, and there are many innovative projects, systems change efforts and personal successes, so let's capture them all!

Other opportunities for people and associations are connections, renewal, poster sessions, donations to our silent auction, vendor exhibit hall, sponsorships, volunteering (Seven hours of volunteer time will get you free registration to the conference!), a dance on Thursday evening of the conference hosted by your local Mid-Atlantic Chapter and much, much more.

Welcome to this year's TASH Conference!

Re:      MASH Membership Meeting

On June 9, 2006, we will be holding an open meeting for MASH members and local TASH members from 2:00 p.m. to 4:00 p.m. at the Maryland Disability Law Center .

This meeting will give us a chance to connect with the TASH Board.  Board Members from our region will be joining us in Baltimore for a future oriented work session.  Board members are interested in supporting MASH and all other chapters in the recent changes.  Our strategic plan will be presented as well – the membership is invited to contribute to the work and details of the plan regarding de-institutionalization, inclusive education and other identified practices that move TASH’s Mission forward.

Maryland Disability Law Center (MDLC) is located at:  1800 N. Charles Street, Suite 400 , Baltimore , MD   21201 .

Please RSVP to Gail Godwin at 410-937-0419 or gailghsi@yahoo.com.

We hope that you will take this opportunity to participate in TASH’s work from yesterday forward in a positive way with our membership’s input.  Thank you for your interest and coming together to re-strengthen and regenerate as we prepare for TASH’s Conference this year in Baltimore – it’s time for a little rejuvenation!!

The National Disability Institute (NDI) of the NCB Development Corporation with assistance from the Maryland Center for Community Development would like to introduce to you the state of Maryland Home-Access Project web site www.home-access.org

The project is being funded by The Maryland Developmental Disabilities Council, Department of Human Resources, and Developmental Disabilities Administration.

The Home Access Project is focused on capacity building at a state and local level. Our goal is to expand individual choices for both affordable and accessible rental and home ownership options statewide. Over a three-year period the project will have direct involvement with 7 key stakeholder groups for dialogue, education, problem solving and
investment. The stakeholders are: Maryland Department of Housing and Community Development; other state and local policymakers; Public Housing Agencies statewide; for profit and not for profit housing developers; persons with developmental and/or physical disabilities and families; lenders; and Maryland based, regional, and national foundations with a record of commitment to affordable and accessible housing development for low income populations.

Please visit our website for more detailed information about the Home-Access Project, and 2003 Leadership Academy and housing resources in Maryland.
